Last night was the basketball awards ceremony and dinner. We were very pleased to hear that Hayden won for the most improved player (MIP). His coach told Chad that Hayden really came out of his shell. He was enthusiastic and showed initiative. He was their best defensive player! Chad nicknamed him the "Scarecrow" because he always had his arms up. He is taller than all the other kids and his arms and legs are really long...go figure! We are so proud!
(Just remember mommy and daddy when you are rich and famous.)

February 11, 2009...Hayden turned "9"!
We wanted to do something special for Hayden for his 9th birthday.
On Sunday I made him a chocolate cake...his favorite.
Wed, his birthday, we told him that we were going somewhere special. When we got there he still didn't have a clue. We even wrapped his present in Hornets paper. Surprise! A Chris Paul jersey and a hat. He finally figured it out! We were going to see the Hornets play the Celtics at the New Orleans Area (The Hive).
Outside the area.
It wouldn't be complete without a foam finger!
Even Bryn had a blast! She loved watching Hugo Hornet prance around the Hive.
Bam sticks...uh, they were FREE!
Go Hornets!

He said WHAT?
Today after dinner, Logan told us that a boy on the bus was cussing. When asked what word(s) he used, Hayden said the "F" word. Yep, the F dash dash dash word! So Chad and I had a talk with the boys about cussing and how it is not nice for anyone to cuss, however you must be an adult. Chad went on saying that he cusses because that is how he and the guys at work talk. I chimed in: "He talks like a sailor." Chad told the boys that they can say whatever they want when they are adults and they don't live at home. Hayden says: "So you're saying that you want me to be a sailor?" ( I started laughing!) Of course then Logan says: "When I get big I am going to get blood pressure and cuss." (It's a good thing I was done eating or I would have choked on my food!)
Bryn got another tooth!

Look what I can do!
Bryn: I have FIVE teeth now. Three on top and two on the bottom. I am walking all around the furniture and crawling everywhere! I am driving mommy and daddy crazy because they have to chase me! I love to eat. My favorites are sweet potatoes and bananas. Oh and I love crackers, cookie and Popsicles. Daddy shares his Popsicles with me and they are so cold that I always make a face. Bath time is so much fun. My most favorite toy is my rubber duckie. I watch Yo Gabba Gabba everyday. Mommy likes to sing the songs on that show, she sounds silly! I love to read my books and play cars with my big brothers. I just started giving kisses (wet ones). My words are "dada", "duck" and "mama". I am turning one really soon! Stay tuned!!
Hayden's Birthday dinner
Tonight we took Hayden to P.F. Changs for dinner. If you haven't been there...GO! It was fantastic. Hayden loves Chinese food, especially Almond Chicken. I even went out on a limb and tried something different...the fried noodles with chicken. Um...Yum! The boys even tried out the chop sticks.
Mommy and the Birthday Boy!
I can do it!
Me? Not so much.
Bryn was camera shy.
Chad's fortune cookie: You will move to a wonderful new home within the year.
